Matthew (NT)

Matthew Chick brings nearly three decades of experience as a Registered Nurse, with extensive expertise across health and disability sectors. Over the years, he has developed specialist knowledge in managing complex behaviours, dual disability, dual diagnoses, and chronic medical conditions across a range of settings, including hospitals, forensic services, home care, prisons, aged care, and other NDIS environments.

Matthew is committed to implementing person-centred, trauma-informed care and Positive Behaviour Support strategies that reduce reliance on restrictive practices, while promoting dignity, safety, and independence. He works to establish sustainable, integrated systems that are culturally responsive and support the mental and physical health needs of individuals, promoting dignity of risk and quality of life.

A three-time nominee for the Northern Territory Disability Services Awards, Matthew is a recognised leader in his field. Since relocating to the Northern Territory in 2011, he has become a valued member of the community.

Outside of work, Matthew enjoys spending time with his wife of 29 years and their four adult children. He is a Third Degree Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt, an ADF Veteran, and finds balance through martial arts and an active lifestyle.
